When you can undo a purchase, and how to do it.
Purchases go through Paddle
Every purchase on this site is handled by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle is your contracting party for the payment, issues the invoice, and returns refunds to your original payment method.
Right of withdrawal for consumers
If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days without giving reasons. The period starts when the contract is concluded. A clear statement to support@dpogoda.dev, or via the help link in Paddle's invoice email, is enough to exercise it.
Early expiry. For digital content, the right of withdrawal lapses once we have begun performance after you expressly agreed that we may begin before the withdrawal period ends and confirmed that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal (§ 356 (5) BGB, German Civil Code). In practice: credits you have already spent on a run carry no right of withdrawal any more. Unused credits can be withdrawn without restriction within the period.
When we refund beyond that
Regardless of the right of withdrawal, we refund in particular when:
- money was taken from you but the credits never arrived in your account;
- the same purchase was charged more than once;
- you bought a pack and have not spent the credits yet, get in touch within 14 days and we will refund the purchase.
Failed runs cost you nothing. If a research run fails, the credit is returned automatically and without asking. You do not have to do anything for that.
You can have unused balance paid out yourself. On the credits page you request the payout of credits you have not spent; the refund goes through Paddle to your original payment method. Paddle reviews every refund, so it is not immediate. If it is declined, you get the credits back. Gifted credits cannot be paid out, because they have no monetary value.
What is not refunded
- credits spent on a run that delivered a result, even if the report contains few or no matching calls. What is owed is the research, not a particular result;
- credits granted free of charge, since they have no monetary value.
How to request a refund
Write to support@dpogoda.dev from your account's email address and, if you have it, include the Paddle order number from your invoice. Alternatively use the help link in Paddle's invoice email. Approved refunds are returned by Paddle to your original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 business days.
Your statutory rights are unaffected by these rules.
